Mikael Antero Granlund is a Finnish professional ice hockey centre. He is currently under contract with Minnesota Wild, for the NHL (National Hockey League, in North America).
Granlund was born on February 26, 1992, in Oulu. He started his career in 2007 in the Finnish team Kärpät and two years later, signed a contract with HIFK Helsinki. Granlund was selected in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Minnesota Wild.
He got a lot of fans after the game against Russia, when he scored a "lacrosse-styled" goal, named ilmaveivi.
